READING STATION HAMOSHAVA

Community Street Library and Meeting Point on Books
The reading stations were born at the initiative of residents who dreamt of establishing a community Art, Public ״ street library in the Train Track Park. The idea was developed together with students of the
course at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design. The project was planned in the ״ Space, and Activism
spirit of sustainability values by recycling old bus stops and using solar energy. The reading station was built by the students, accompanied by the Jerusalem Municipality and the Ginot-HaIr and Darom Community Councils, and in cooperation with ״ Mamuta ״. 
• Bring and take books freely. You can bring reference books, fiction or children›s books in any language.
• To organize literary communal activities in the station (e.g., book club, literary party, children›s story time, etc.), use the  bulletin board and stay updated.

The concept of the design for the two Bus Stations comes from the past function as a bus station. people used to wait in the shade waiting for a bus, but now readers can enjoy browsing the books and even reading them in the place but no waiting for a bus ! We intend to keep the structure of the recycled station and open the back and the sides to keep the shelves with maximum visibility. 

The shelves designed as modules and the dimensions was defined by ISO 216 specifies international standard to fit the variatey of the books, Another advantage it allows the modules to set on each other as a in accurate as Tetris in a few colorful appearance.
